350 leaders of Victory Outreach International, visit Rosarito
Playas de Rosarito, B. C. - From the 14th to the 17th of April more than 350 Leaders and Pastors of “Victory Outreach International” participated in a spiritual retreat in Rosarito. This association has developed these types of biannual events for more than 20 years in this region. This month it held the retreat for men, and they have programmed the retreat for women for October. The participation of more than 1,500 female leaders is expected. Martha Pedroza, coordinator of events for “Victory Outreach International,” declared in an interview that in spite of hearing of violence in the border cities, they continue with faith in the teachings of Jesus Christ and the call to him. Many miracles have been seen that have changed the lives of delinquents to people of good through the word of God. Also, she declared that they feel very calm in the city. They have visited restaurants, made purchases, and done all of the tourist activities without having misfortune.
Pastor Joshua Abboutt, Director of “Urban Training Centers” (Centro de Entrenamiento Urbano) located in the San Antonio del Mar colony of Tijuana, related that the reason they are in the region is for bringing a revival and preparing people so that they take the religious message, not only to Rosarito but to the reach of all Baja California. Also he said that the stay of all the group in this city has been very pleasant, that they have become more acquainted with the city of Rosarito, and, that thanks be to God, they have been able to go out nights, to eat tacos, to amuse themselves without any problem of a criminal nature. Rosarito Beach Reminds U.S. Visitors, Of New June 1 Document Requirements
ROSARITO BEACH, BAJA CALIFORNIA, MEXICO---This tourist destination reminds visitors from the United States that as of June 1 they’ll need a passport or similar document to re-enter the U.S. by land or sea.
That is the date for full implementation of the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative. Since January 2007 the requirements have been in effect for air travelers returning from Mexico or Canada.
Under the provisions, U.S. citizens age 18 or older re-entering the country will be required to show a passport, passport card, or approved traveler document such as a NEXUS or SENTRI pass.
Previously, a birth certificate and proof of identity were sufficient. For those under 18, a birth certificate still will be acceptable. Full requirements and application procedures are available at www.cbp.gov
Rosarito has posted notice of the changes on its Convention and Visitors Bureau website (www.rosarito.org) and shared them with city businesses and residents, which include an estimated 14,000 U.S. citizens.
The new requirements, according to U.S. officials, are intended both to make the border more secure and speed processing by providing inspectors with a more standard set of re-entry documents.
The San Ysidro port of entry, used by many of the one-million annual visitors to Rosarito, is the busiest border crossing in the world.
