Lobster & Art Festivals Highlight This Weekend in Rosarito Beach

ROSARITO BEACH, BAJA CALIFORNIA, MEXICO---This Sunday (October 17), from noon to 7 pm the XVIII edition of the Lobster Festival will be held in Puerto Nuevo, the famous lobster village 12 miles south of downtown Rosarito on the Free Road.

A large art festival will take place the same weekend in downtown Rosarito.

The lobster festival will take place on the Puerto Nuevo’s main Rentería Street and will feature the restaurants Puerto Nuevo II, The Lobster House, Villa Ortega's, Restaurant Playa Delfines, Ortega’s Original and Sandra's.

Rosarito Mariachi Divas' Festival Attracts 1,500 And Is On Track To Become An Annual Event

ROSARITO BEACH, BAJA CALIFORNIA, MEXICO---The Oct. 2 seaside concert by the Grammy-winning Mariachi Divas attracted 800 people with 700 more attending weekend competitions between music and dance groups from the U.S. and Mexico.

As well as being what many consider one of the best concerts ever presented in the city, the event on the grounds of the Rosarito Beach Hotel raised $5,000 toward the construction of Rosarito’s $1.3 million Boys and Girls Club. Other income went for the sound system, lighting and other expenses for the spetacular.

Rosarito’s Puerto Nuevo Celebrates 18th Lobster Festival on October 17

ROSARITO BEACH, BAJA CALIFORNIA, MEXICO---It all started with a tiny fishing village beside a road sign advertising Newport cigarettes --- hence the name Puerto Nuevo (New Port).

Now the village about 12 miles south of downtown Rosarito on the Free Road has grown into one of the most famous destinations in the world for lobster lovers, with as many as 40 restaurants serving up to a million of the tasty crustaceans each year.

More than 60 Artists To Be Featured At Oct. 16 & 17 Rosarito Beach Art Fest

ROSARITO BEACH, BAJA CALIFORNIA, MEXICO---More than 60 artists from this city’s thriving artist community and beyond will be featured on Oct. 16 and 17 at the first Rosarito Art Fest.
The huge free exhibition and sale of paintings, sculpture and other works will be held Saturday and Sunday from 11 to 6 on Boulvard Benito Juarez, directly in front of the landmark Rosarito Beach Hotel.

Tickets Still Available for Rosarito Mariachi Spectacular Featuring Grammy Winners

ROSARITO BEACH, BAJA CALIFORNIA, MEXICO – Despite brisk sales, some tickets remain for this weekend’s international mariachi festival which will feature a Saturday night seaside concert by the Grammy-winning Mariachi Divas.

“It’s truly going to be a spectacular event,” said Rosy Torres, president of the Rosarito Boys & Girls Club, which will receive all profits from the event at the Rosarito Beach Hotel.

“We’ve had hundreds of people from the area and outside the region reserve tickets for the event, but some still area available and also will be at the festival. We are so grateful for the support, the performers and to Gil Sperry for organizing this great event.”
